In my dream, I’m hidden in the bushes looking out into a meadow, seeing an old wooden house with a wrap around porch on short stilts. There is a man standing in the meadow. He tall, older, he was dressed in a pale yellow button down shirt with dark brown slacks. His skin was slightly brown as of he were Native American. He had glasses. He looked over to where I was hiding in the bushes and told me to “come, it is safe” but his mouth didn’t move. I moved toward him, only I wasn't human, I was smaller. When I reached him, he asked “ do you know your name?”again his mouth didn’t move, he spoke through his thoughts. I replied “ yes, it’s Christina” he said “no, that is your given name, not your chosen name” I looked up at him, feeling so incredibly small. He then said “ your name is Arrow” then just like mist it was all gone and woke up
Dreams can be complex and deeply personal, but I can provide some insights based on common themes and symbols present in your dream.
Setting - The Bushes and the Meadow: Being hidden in the bushes may represent feelings of vulnerability or a desire to retreat from a situation in your waking life. The meadow can symbolize openness and potential, contrasting with your initial hidden state, suggesting a journey from concealment to revelation.
The Old Wooden House: Houses in dreams often represent the self or various aspects of your personality. An old wooden house may symbolize wisdom, memories, or parts of yourself that are foundational yet perhaps neglected. The wrap-around porch symbolizes a space for reflection and connection but might also indicate a desire to remain on the periphery rather than fully engaging with your environment.
The Man: The older man in the pale yellow shirt can represent wisdom, guidance, or a mentor figure in your life. His calm demeanor and invitation to come closer suggest a safe space for you to explore more profound truths about yourself. His non-verbal communication may indicate a higher level of understanding or telepathic connection, emphasizing intuition and inner guidance.
The Name: The dialogue about names is particularly significant. Names can symbolize identity, self-perception, and how one identifies with their life’s purpose. The distinction between your given name (Christina) and your chosen name (Arrow) suggests an exploration of deeper aspects of your identity. “Arrow” could symbolize direction, purpose, and the idea of moving forward with intent. It might indicate a transitional phase in your life where you are being invited to align more closely with your true self and purpose.
Feeling Small: The sensation of feeling small in the dream may reflect feelings of inadequacy or a desire to grow into a more profound sense of self. It could indicate that you are in a phase of transformation, where you are learning to embrace who you truly are beyond societal roles or expectations.
Looking Beyond the Dream: The overall tone of your dream seems to speak of discovery and a movement toward embracing your authentic self. The use of nature, the wise figure, and the dialog about identity suggests that you might be at a pivotal moment in your life where you're ready to explore what truly resonates with you.
In essence, this dream may be encouraging you to explore and embrace your true identity—your sense of purpose and direction—beyond what has been assigned to you by others or by society. Trust in your intuition, and do not be afraid to venture out from your hiding place into the vast possibilities of the meadow.
